Senior Full-Stack Engineer

About this role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you'll own significant pieces of the Casemend platform end-to-end. Our product manages thousands of concurrent healthcare cases with overlapping regulatory requirements, and every feature you build needs to handle that complexity reliably. You'll collaborate directly with teammates who have federal healthcare operations experience, so you'll understand the real-world context behind every product decision. This is a high-autonomy role where you'll shape both the technical architecture and the product direction.

What you'll do

• Design and implement features across the React frontend and Node.js backend that support case lifecycle management workflows
• Build and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries for high-volume case data with full audit trail requirements
• Collaborate with product and domain experts to translate complex regulatory requirements into clean, maintainable software
• Participate in architecture decisions around scalability, security, and HIPAA compliance
• Review code from teammates and contribute to engineering standards and practices
• Investigate and resolve production issues in a system that healthcare operations teams depend on daily

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of professional experience building full-stack web applications with React and Node.js
• Strong proficiency with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including query optimization and schema design
• Experience building software in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments (healthcare, finance, government)
• Comfortable working across the stack — you can debug a CSS layout issue and a database performance problem in the same day
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and CI/CD pipelines
• Clear written and verbal communication — we're a remote-friendly team and documentation matters
