Federal Policy Analyst

Government RelationsWashington, DCFull-time

About this role

As a Federal Policy Analyst, you'll be the person at Casemend who reads the Federal Register so our clients don't have to. CMS issues proposed rules, final rules, guidance documents, and information bulletins that directly change how healthcare operations teams need to manage cases, track compliance deadlines, and document their work. You'll analyze these developments, translate them into product implications, and help our clients understand what they need to do differently. This role bridges the gap between regulatory policy and operational software.

What you'll do

  • Monitor and analyze CMS rulemaking, guidance documents, and policy changes that affect healthcare case management
  • Write clear, actionable summaries of regulatory developments for internal teams and client-facing communications
  • Translate regulatory requirements into product feature specifications and compliance workflow updates
  • Support client-facing teams with regulatory context during onboarding, training, and business reviews
  • Maintain a regulatory tracking system that maps policy changes to affected platform features and workflows
  • Research and prepare policy briefings for company leadership on emerging healthcare regulatory trends

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare policy analysis, regulatory affairs, or health policy research
  • Strong understanding of CMS programs, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and the federal rulemaking process
  • Excellent analytical writing skills — you can turn a 200-page proposed rule into a clear two-page summary
  • Experience reading and interpreting federal regulations, proposed rules, and CMS guidance documents
  • Familiarity with healthcare operations concepts: provider enrollment, compliance reviews, case adjudication
  • Interest in health IT and how technology can help organizations comply with regulatory requirements
