Director of Government Affairs

About this role

As Director of Government Affairs, you'll lead Casemend's relationships with the federal and state agencies that shape healthcare operations policy. CMS rulemaking, state Medicaid program requirements, congressional healthcare IT initiatives — these all directly affect the problems our platform solves and the organizations we serve. You'll position Casemend within the federal health IT ecosystem, identify procurement and partnership opportunities, and ensure our leadership team understands the policy landscape that drives our market.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain relationships with CMS officials, state Medicaid directors, and congressional staff focused on healthcare policy
• Monitor and analyze federal and state policy developments that affect healthcare case management and compliance
• Identify federal and state procurement opportunities and position Casemend for government contracting
• Represent Casemend at industry conferences, policy forums, and government stakeholder meetings
• Advise company leadership on regulatory trends and policy risks that affect product strategy and market positioning
• Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on government contracting requirements and certifications

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or government relations in the healthcare sector
• Established relationships within CMS, HHS, or state Medicaid agencies
• Deep understanding of federal healthcare programs — Medicare, Medicaid, and the regulatory frameworks that govern them
• Experience with federal procurement processes, including FedRAMP, GSA schedules, or state contracting vehicles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for policy analysis, white papers, and stakeholder presentations
• Based in the Washington, DC metro area with ability to attend in-person meetings with government stakeholders
